Sparta march on to final

Sparta Rugby Club narrowly escaped with a 30-26 victory over versus Vipers Rugby Club in their semifinal on Saturday afternoon at Parkies Rugby Field in Windhoek.

The victory ensured that the coastal club and defending champions advance to the final against Ocean Swallows of Luderitz. Swallows defeated the Easters Bull Dogs of Gobabis with 35-17 to face Sparta in the final.

Vipers trailed by 17 points to zero at half time, but scored 26 points in the second half. The Windhoek side threw in everything they had in store against the visitors with excellent rugby, but in the end could not outsmart the coastal visitors.

Ronaldo Britze, Jenery Xamseb, Ethan Feris, Ridahwaan Mouton and Eldrich Losper each scored tries with Faven Visagie adding a conversion and Stuart McAlpine a penalty goal for Sparta.

Kevin Kadhila, Willem Richter, Shaquille Emamdien and Ginaldo Rivanne scored tries for Vipers. Luandru Oberholzer converted three tries.
