Wilro neem voortou met eerste uitstappie

Nadat die laaste vorige motortydren in die land verlede jaar in November aangebied was, het Wilro Dippenaar Saterdag op Omaruru seker gemaak hy palm die eerste Shell V-Power-byeenkoms van 2021 in wat deur die Redline-motorklub aangebied was.

Dippenaar se Team PZN Panelbeaters Shell V-Power 4x4 Ford Fiesta S2000 was onstuitbaar in die S4-klas oor die sewe spesiale skofte van altesame 110 kilometer wat hy almal in 1 uur 10 minute gewen gewen het.

Dippenaar sê die roetes was almal uitsonderlik en nie te hard op die voertuie nie. Hy sê afgesien dat die Ford Fiesta se temperatuur nou en dan te hoog geraak het, het dit andersins foutloos soos stroop geloop.

“Die mense van Omaruru is geweldig vriendelik en gasvry. Almal het gehelp waar hulle kon en die lodges was baie behulpsaam. Dit was ’n baie lekker tydren en die roetes was goed gekies en uitgelê.

“Nege van die tien inskrywings het klaargemaak, wat ’n aanduiding van die paaie se goeie toestand is. Ek kon nie die trajekte volspoed jaag nie, want ons het temperatuurprobleme ondervind met die kar wat bietjie warm geword het.

“Ons as span is baie bly dat die Fiesta se nukke van vorige tydrenne opgeklaar is. Nou is dit net die enjin se hitte wat aandag moet kry en dan is ons reg vir die volgende kompetisie einde Julie. Ons hoop net die res van die byeenkomste verloop dan ook so lekker en sonder enige probleme soos die Shell V-Power-tydren op Omaruru,” het Dippenaar aan Republikein gesê.

Pieter Greeff, wat verlede jaar algeheel derde in die Namibiese nasionale kampioenskap geëindig het, het die tweede plek in die S1-klas ingepalm.

Greef sê: “Ek is nie spyt dat ons deelgeneem het nie. Dit was my eerste keer daar, maar sonder ’n interkom kon ek en my navigator mekaar vir ’n tyd lank nie hoor nie.

“Die eerste vyf sneldele was redelik chaoties sonder die interkom en met ’n enjin waarvan die toere hoog gehardloop het. In die laaste twee trajekte het sake lekker glad verloop en ek kon in die laaste sneldeel die tweede vinnigste tyd ná Wilro opstel.

“Dit was lekker om weer ’n slag te kon jaag en ek sien uit na die volgende vyf byeenkomste. Saterdag was die eerste keer sedert November wat ek agter die Corolla se stuurwiel ingeklim het, maar ek was gou tuis in die tuig!”

Die algehele tweede posisie is deur De Wet du Plessis met sy BMW E36 (S3-klas) met ’n tyd van 1:25 ingeneem, terwyl Steven Marnevick derde is met 1:26 in sy S1-klas Mitsubishi.

In die veldrenafdeling (CR) vir doelgeboude bakkies, Sandmasters en allerhande vinnige veldmonsters, het Jandré Dippenaar in die CR2-afdeling in 1:15 algeheel eerste met sy Team PZN Panelbeaters V8 Shell V-Power 4x4 Ford Ranger geëindig.

Dirk Redman (CR2) was tweede (1:26:12) in sy Toyota Hilux met Ewald Bisschoff kort agter hom in 1:26:23 met sy CR1-klas Nissan NP300.

Die Redline-motorklub bedank die vriendelike mense van Omaruru, Shell V-Power as die hoofborg asook die Namibiese Motorsportfederasie en almal wat die tydren ’n sukses help maak het.
