Wilfred weer as burgemeester gekies

Raadslid Immanuel Wilfred is vir die vyfde agtereenvolgende jaar herkies as die burgemeester van Walvisbaai.

Raadslede Penelope Martin-Louw is as onderburgemeester herkies, só ook Lilo Niilenge as voorsitter van die bestuurskomitee.

Die res van die bestuurskomitee is Paulus Kauhondamwa, Saara Shalemo, Hilka Erastus en die addisionele lid is Tobias Nambala. Ander raadslede is Gibson Goseb en Valencia Izaaks.

Wilfred het gesê dat dit vir hom ’n eer is om weer as burgemeester te dien.

“Ek kan bloot nederig aanvaar dit het gebeur as gevolg van die vertroue wat my kollegas in my het. Ek kon dit egter net doen te danke aan hul kosbare ondersteuning en leiding sedert 2015.”

Wilfred het gesê hy is vol vertroue dat ander raadslede se ampstermyn beskou as die hoogtepunt van hulle sukses met die bevordering van die sosio-ekonomiese vooruitsigte van Walvisbaai as fokus.

“Dit is inderdaad ’n goed bestuurde munisipaliteit. Die ongekwalifiseerde ouditverslag van die kantoor van die ouditeur-generaal dui aan dat geld verstandig en omsigtig deur die munisipaliteit bestee word, en ook aan projekte wat die koste wat aangegaan is, regverdig. Ons lewer ook gereeld terugvoering aan inwoners en sal weer die talle ontwikkelings wat gekenmerk is deur die ekonomiese en sosiale vooruitgang van Walvisbaai gedurende die volgende jaar, beklemtoon.”

Ter afsluiting het Wilfred gesê dat hy met die steun van sy familie, raadslede, munisipale administrasie en die SWAPO-party die geleentheid aangryp om weer as burgemeester te dien.

“Ons sien saam uit na ’n konstruktiewe 2020.”
