Orano Mining Namibia het twee tenke vir die opberging van water aan die !Oe-≠Gan Tradisionele Owerheid geskenk, wat sal sorg vir ’n noemensaardige toename in die bergingskapasiteit van drinkwater vir die Spitzkoppe gemeenskap.

Die twee tenke (5000 liter en 10 000 liter) met toebehore is aan die hoof van die Spitzkoppe nedersetting, mnr. Benjamin! Naruseb, en lede van die Spitzkoppe-ontwikkelingskomitee en die #Gaingu bewaringsgebied oorhandig.

Die gemeenskap versamel tans water in houers by die kampterrein en die installering van die watertenks sal toegang tot drinkwater aansienlik vergemaklik.

Die heersende droogte het druk op die ondergrondse waterbronne in die Spitzkoppe-gebied (en ander nedersettings in die streek) geplaas, en ’n verhoogde waterbergingskapasiteit sal die frekwensie van noodtoevoer deur watertenkwaens van buite die gebied of van vergeleё boorgate, verminder.
