Die 2020 vuisbalseisoen het verlede naweek amptelik met die SFC Vuisbaltoernooi begin.

Dit was die eerste toernooi vir die jaar, met verskeie ander wat deur die loop van die jaar nog op die progam is.

Saterdag se toernooi is in ’n A- en B-liga verdeel, met CFC 1 wat die eerste plek opgeraap het in die A-liga ná hulle SKW in die finaal geklop het.

DTS het ’n bloutjie in die B-liga geloop, met SFC 1 wat die eerste plek in dié afdeling verwower het.

Karl-Heinz Kraut van die A-Liga wenspan CFC 1, is as die speler van die toernooi aangewys.

Die volgende toernooi by SFC gaan in Maart plaasvind.

Vuisbal is soortgelyk aan vlugbal, met die basiese komponente van ’n bal oor ’n net slaan na ’n opponent. In ’n vuisbalwedstryd mik vyf spelers in ’n span om die bal oor die net te slaan met gebruik van net hul arms of ’n toe vuis in teenstelling met vlugbal waar ’n ope hand aanvaarbaar is.

Tradisioneel word die wedstryd gespeel tot die eerste span 11 punte behaal, maar hulle moet ten minste twee punte voor wees – anders word daar gespeel tot daar 15 punte bereik word deur een van die spanne. In hierdie geval hoef die wenspan nie twee punte voor te wees nie.

In vlugbal mag die bal geensins aan die grond raak nie, maar in vuisbal is dit aanvaarbaar dat die bal tot en met die keer die grond raak.

’n Speler mag net een keer aan die bal raak. As hy of sy die bal meer as een keer aanraak, die bal met ’n oop hand slaan, of die bal meer as drie keer in die span se veld grond raak, word die span gestraf en ’n punt aan die teenstander toegeken.
