Vivo Energy Namibia het onlangs sy voortgesette ondersteuning met sy Shell V-Power-handelsmerk aan motorsport, die Redline-motorklub en Wilro Dippenaar bevestig.

Mnr. Edward Walugembe, besturende direkteur van Vivo Energy Namibia, sê Shell V-Power se verbintenis met motorsport strek oor die afgelope 69 jaar.

Walugembe het gesê: “Ek bevestig graag Vivo Energy se voortgesette steun aan motorsport in Namibië. Ons vennootskap met motor- en motorfietssport strek oor etlike dekades. Shell V-Power is die eindproduk van innovering, navorsing en ontwikkeling.

“Met Shell-petrol in die tenk, het Ferrari in 1952 sy eerste van talle wêreldkampioenskappe beklink. In 2012 het ons en die Scuderia Ferrari-span saam Ferrari se 500ste Formule 1-oorwinning by die Singapoer-byeenkoms gevier!

“Vanjaar sal ons tien jaar by motorsport in Namibië betrokke wees. Ek wil graag vir Redline vir hul toewyding en passie bedank om tydrenne lewendig te hou. Baie dankie aan die PZN Shell V-Powerspanne wat ons verteenwoordig, asook elke beampte, die Namibiese Motorsportfederasie en ondersteuners. Go well, go Shell!”

Mnr. Dippies Dippenaar, voorsitter van Redline, sê Omaruru bied die ideale omgewing en paaie om ’n opwindende en vinnige tydren aan te bied.

“Ná meer as twee dekades is tydrenne terug in Omaruru. Die jaers is honger vir aksie en ons verwag ongeveer 18 inskrywings vir die vinnige tydren.

“Met die hulp van die Omaruru-munisipaliteit, TransNamib en ’n plaaslike boer het ons sewe vinnige spesiale sneldele oor 110 kilometer gekies. Entoesiaste kan hulle vir ’n opwindende tydrenfees voorberei.

“Ons begin Saterdagoggend tienuur by die Shell-diensstasie in die dorp en sal weer vyfuur die namiddag daar eindig. ’n Gids is by dié diensstasie beskikbaar vir mense om te sien waar en wanneer die sneldele wegspring en waar die beste toeskouerpunte is.

“Ons sal streng Covid-19-maatreëls tydens en ná die tydren handhaaf. Gevolglik sal ongelukkig geen prysuitdeling ná die byeenkoms kan plaasvind nie,” het die voorsitter verduidelik.

Team PZN Panelbeaters

Wilro Dippenaar sal opnuut vir die 2021-tydrenseisoen deur Shell V-Power in sy PZN Panelbeaters 4x4-Ford Fiesta S2000 geborg word om aan die S4-afdeling deel te neem.

Carolyn Swan sal weer met presisie as navigator die roetenotas vir Dippenaar lees.

Allan Martin, wat verlede jaar die nasionale S4-titel gebuit het, se 4x4-Skoda is steeds in die werkswinkel en sal nie in Omaruru jaag nie.
