Dance Factory Swakopmund in collaboration with the Swakopmund Arts Association recently hosted the “Unity is Separation” event at the Woermannhaus Gallery.
The occasion featured a combination of dance and art, which was showcased in separate rooms and locations at the same time. The “Little BIG Things” exhibition was also on display in the gallery during the event, that featured a combination of dance styles with well-known artist Scarlet Gray performing a collection of songs, including her hit, “It must be nice”.
Event organiser and founder of Dance Factory Swakopmund, Carmen Weldeck, said the event was a success, saying: “We received a lot of positive feedback.”
She admitted that it was difficult to coordinate the event because it was the first time for Dance Factory Namibia to merge dance with art. “However, we will definitely do it again because people enjoyed it.”
Dance Factory Swakopmund will host Dance Week from 3-10 December. The studio teaches different styles like hip hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet and fitness classes to anyone from the age of three and older.
