Daar is min dinge so trots Namibies soos 'n yskoue koeldran­kie langs 'n gesellige braaivleisvuur.

Die waarheid is egter die meerderheid van Namibiese gaskoeldranke word vanaf Suid-Afrika ingevoer.

Dít word nou stadig maar seker verander.

Robert Hanekom het besluit om sy deel te doen om die genot van die Namibiese kuier eg Namibies te maak deur sy reeks gaskoeldranke en water, Soda King, Tip Top en Aqua King, wat in 15 geure beskikbaar is.

“Daar is 'n leemte in die mark. Die meerderheid van ons koeldranke word ten duurste ingevoer. Daar is plek vir 'n goedkoper alternatief,” sê Hanekom.



Mededingend

“Ons het van die grootste en mees moderne toerus­ting in Namibië en kan groot volumes met min arbeid produseer, wat ons koste om te lewer baie mededingend maak,” sê Hanekom.

Vandag word Soda King, Tip Top en Aqua King landswyd verkoop en daar is geen einde aan dit wat die toekoms mag inhou nie.

Die maatskapy verskaf werk aan nege mense, en die getal gaan beslis toeneem soos die besigheid groei.

“Ons maak 2 liter-, 500 ml- en 330 ml-gaskoeldrank, sowel as 5 liter-, 1,5 liter- en 500 ml-waterprodukte. Die bottels word ook in ons fabriek vervaardig.

“Ons rakpryse is omtrent 15% tot 20% goedkoper. Ons het die kapasiteit om meer as 400 000 liter per maand te produseer, maar vervaardig tans ongeveer 50 000 liter en dit groei maandeliks,” se Hanekom.

Hy vertel hulle het intussen ook koeldrank met 'n lae suiker-inhoud en gegeurde water begin vervaardig, maar die verskaffing van vrugtesappe en ys in grootmaat word vir die toekoms beplan.
