Award-winning artist Monica “Top Cheri” Pinias recently announced on social media that she has been chosen as the official ambassador of EduCare.
The afro pop singer from Walvis Bay expressed her joy on Facebook, saying: “I am proud to announce my partnership with Team EduCare as their official ambassador.”
Commenting on the announcement, various peers wished her all the best. One of the first to send words of congratulations was award-winning make-up artist Jey Mwinga. “Congratulations lady!” Mwinga said.
Top Cheri’s claim to fame includes winning three Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) in 2018 for her hits “Victoria” and “Johny”.
The energetic performer is also one of the few Namibian artists who has witnessed a music video (“Calling Heaven”) reach 1 million streams on YouTube.
Her meteoric rise to fame has made it difficult for corporates to ignore her influence.
Apart from being EduCare’s official ambassador, Top Cheri was also the ambassador of the Namibian National Students Organisation (Nanso) Fix My Home project, as well as the face of the health ministry’s cancer campaign.
EduCare sells electronics like laptops and iPads, and provides internet connectivity.
