Strandsokker beloof om ’n instelling te raak ná Dein Ball Für Namibia (DBFN) se eerste strandsokkertoernooi hierdie naweek by Swakopmund Sokkerklub (SFC) se veld plaasgevind het.

DBFN is ’n inisiatief wat verlede jaar deur Tony Arjen Daugals gestig is. Die projek beoog om sokkerklubs en -spanne se tweedehandse toerusting in te samel en dit onder spanne in Namibië te versprei.

SFC se spanne het hulself tydens die toernooi goed van hul taak gekwyt en die meeste podiumposisies ingeneem: Twee eerste plekke (o.13 en o.17 SFC 2), ’n tweede plek (o.15) en ’n derde plek (SFC 1).

SFC het egter in die afdelings vir jonger spelers opdraend gehad, met Swakop United Sokkerklub wat eerste plek in die o.9-afdeling ingepalm het en Genesis Sokkerklub wat skoonskip gemaak het in die o.11-ouderdomsgroep.

Die nuwe strandsokkerveld wat by SFC aangebring is, is vir die eerste keer vir hierdie toernooi gebruik.

SFC se tegniese direkteur, Gerald Güther, het gesê die strandsokkerveld het “bloed, sweet en trane gekos”.

“Die nuwe veld was ’n spanpoging. Dit is deur vrywilligers, spelers, afrigters en skeidsregters moontlik gemaak.”

Güther het die skeidsregters vir die naweek, Friedel Kheibeb en Ensley Gariseb, hartlik bedank.

“Ons skeidsregters werk altyd baie hard. Ons wil verskriklik graag vir die twee dankie sê vir hulle bystand.”
