Sertum Energy Namibia gaan Donderdag sy nuut geboude Trekkopje-sonkragaanleg amptelik in gebruik neem.

Die visepresident van die Republiek van Namibië, mnr. Nangolo Mbumba, sal moontlik die inhuldigingseremonie bywoon van die fasiliteit wat 45 km noordoos van Swakopmund onderweg na Usakos geleë is.

Sertum Energy Namibia is 'n Namibies-geregistreerde, onafhanklike kragprodusent met 'n volledig ontwikkelde projek wat 'n ontwikkelingskapasiteit van 27 megawatt het, waarvan eers net 5 megawatt gebruik gaan word.

Die maatskappy het 'n 25 jaar-kragkoopooreenkoms met NamPower onderteken as deel van die Feedin-Tariff (REFiT)-program.

Dié program moedig ontwikkelaars aan om hernubare energieprojekte in Namibië op ’n klein skaal aan te durf om sodoende die nasionale kragvoorraad in die land aan te vul, meer energie plaaslik te genereer en ook om die land te help om van ’n energie-invoerder in ’n selfversorgende land te verander.

Die fotovoltaïese kragstasie lê in die Trekkopje-myngebied wat aan die Orano-maatskappy behoort, en beslaan ‘n gebied van sowat 37 000 hektaar. Die aanleg op 50 hektaar grond is met goedkeuring vir verdere uitbreiding ontwikkel.

Dit is ook naby ’n substasie wat krag direk aan die Trekkopje-myngebied verskaf. ’n Kraglyn wat aan drie pompstasies en die Erongo-ontsoutingsaanleg energie verskaf, se oorsprong is by dieselfde substasie.



Die belanghebbendes van die projek is die ministerie van mynwese en energie, die nasionale kragverskaffer, NamPower, Orano, die Elektrisiteitsbeheerraad en Bank Windhoek.

Volgens vroeëre mediaberigte is dié belegging van N$110 miljoen deur mnr. Vito Nardi, die uitvoerende hoof van die Italiaanse hernubare energie-ontwikkelaar Enertronica, in 2016 bekend gestel.

Enertronica het oorspronklik 70% van Sertum Energy Namibia verkry om besit van die projek te neem en daarmee ’n ooreenkoms van 25 jaar aan te gaan om krag aan NamPower te verkoop.

Sertum is ’n spesiale­doelmaatskappy is verantwoordelik vir die verskaffing van ingenieurs, asook die verkryging en konstruksie van die aanleg deur middel van ’n belegging wat deur plaaslike banke gefinansier word.

Sy Suid-Afrikaanse filiaalmaatskappy, Enertronica SA, is ingespan wat twee soortgelyke kragstasies met ’n gesamentlike kapasiteit van 177 MW gebou het.
