Smashing Coastal T10 cricket league action

Sparta Cricket Club I defeated Blue Waters Cricket Club II with 49 runs in a Coastal T10 match played at the Sparta Recreational Club grounds in Walvis Bay on Sunday.

Blue Waters II won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sparta scored 106 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Tiaan Van Der Westhuizen was the top run scorer with 46 (including four 4’s and three 6’s) from 22 balls. This performance with the bat, earned him the man of the match award. Marnus Van Niekerk also added 18 runs (including one 4) from 13 balls for Sparta I. Johannes Erasmus was the best bowler for Blue Waters II with 3 wickets for 16 runs from 2 overs. Jeremia Shikongo also took 2 wickets for 6 runs from 1 over. In their reply, Markus Hiahambo and Romano Paulus both scored 13 runs each for Blue Waters II. Hiahambo hit one 4 from the 11 balls he faced and Paulus hit one 4 from the 15 balls he faced. Christo Smith was the top bowler for Sparta I with 2 wickets for 5 runs in 2 overs.

Pro-Ed Old Boys Cricket Club (PEOBCC) II defeated Blue Waters I Cricket Club with 9 wickets in a match played at the Pro-Ed grounds in Swakopmund. Blue Waters I won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 67 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Renaldo Julie scored 27 runs (including two 4’s) from 20 balls and Matthew De Gouveia added 23 runs (including two 6’s) from 16 balls for Blue Waters I. Charl Wilson was the top bowler for PEOBCC II with 2 wickets for 13 runs in 2 overs. PEOBCC II scored 72 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 6 overs. Nicolas Van Der Colff smashed 45 runs (including five 4’s and three 6’s) from 19 balls. This performance earned him the man of the match award. Hanro Bardenhorst (not out) also added 18 runs (including two 4’s) from 15 balls for PEOBCC II. John-Eric Tierrauch was the best bowler for Blue Waters I. He took 1 wicket for 16 runs in 2 overs.
