Six injured as sedan overturns on Henties road
26 March 2021 | Accidents
Six people sustained minor injuries in a motor vehicle accident on the Henties Bay road yesterday.
According to the head of the Swakopmund Fire Brigade, Aubrey Oosthuizen, the accident involved an overloaded correctional facility vehicle. “The sedan was carrying six people and a car like that is only designed for five people.”
Correctional service employees had knocked off and were on their way home to Henties Bay. “The car was speeding, hit a barricade and skidded of the road before rolling a few times at the curve where the shoulder reached the tarred section,” Oosthuizen said.
Code Red and E-Med ambulances rushed to the scene and attended to the situation.
The Swakopmund Fire Brigade was also called to the scene.
Those involved in the accident were taken to the Swakopmund state hospital.
