Seaside Primary School in Walvis Bay held their first graduation ceremony for their grade 7 learners.
This is the first year that grade 7 classes were added to the school since its inception in January 2017. The school is home to 1 419 learners, with 144 grade 7s who are accommodated in four classes.
Principal Emily Ndemula said that idea behind the ceremony was to appreciate the years these learners spent at Seaside and to prepare them for the next stage of their education. “You are ready and more than able to carry the torch that we bestowed upon you. You have been a light and a pleasure to teach these past three years. We are very proud of you. Always remember to be kind, be a good friend, look out for one another, stay out of trouble, follow your dreams and always believe in yourself.”
Ndemula also praised the school’s 45 teachers for their dedication and hard work. “The love, dedication and commitment you’ve shown our learners in these challenging years is truly commendable. It is a privilege to work with such a strong team.” She also acknowledged the important role parents play. “You are a vital component in the children’s education. You have helped them grow, and we value your support. Without it we would simply not be such a marvelous school.”
