Sean K geared for Time single

Musician Sean K will release the first track from his second studio album on 3 July. The song titled ‘Time’ features Black Vulcanite’s Ali That Dude, while Louw “Low” du Toit produced the album.

“We were only meant to collaborate for one song, but the synergy between the two of us was so good we ended up doing the whole album together,” Sean K says of the producer of his upcoming album.

The entire album was created in March and took about a month to finish.

Working with Du Toit was natural, says Sean K.

“Everything came together really quickly. Low and I just gelled and the song wrote itself. In studio, I would write while he produced beats. It was a first for me to do both simultaneously.”

Sean K says Ali That Dude’s involvement was no spur of the moment decision.

“I’ve been eyeing Ali for a collaboration for a while. As I was writing this song, I got stuck writing a second verse and I decided to give the verse to him. He did not disappoint.”

Sean K hails Ali as a brilliant talent and an amazing writer.

“His flow and dynamics are not the typical wishy-washy you find everywhere.”

Ali That Dude said that his verse in the song ties in with the initial subject matter.

“The song is about procrastination. It’s a reminder that you must do as much for yourself as possible with the time you are given, because time just keeps moving.”

‘Time’ serves as an appetizer for his upcoming second studio album, from which he plans to release multiple singles, says Sean K.

“There are definitely a few singles coming from this album. We’ll see how things go.”

He also promises that his next record will be a new experience for fans.

“The second album is completely different from my other work. It has a darker sound, and is more refined. At its core it maintains R’nB, hip hop and contemporary influences.”
