Rough seas flood Tiger Reef again

24 September 2020 | Local News

A high swell hit large parts of the Namibian coast at the weekend.

In Swakopmund on Saturday, Tiger Reef Beach Bar’s parking lot was flooded (pictured), while high seas also submerged parts of Strand Street. The swell was estimated at more than three meters high and was a result of a cold front that had recently reached the Cape in South Africa. According to the weather forecast website Windguru, the swell will remain low this week.

However, another high swell and a strong southwesterly winds are expected to occur along the central coast from this coming Saturday. Photos contributed
