Registrasie van kwesbare inwoners gaan voort

Met inperkings vanweë die Covid-19-pandemie, moes talle inwoners op barmhartige Samaritane staatmaak om hulp te verleen, aangesien baie mense hul inkomste verloor het.

Om hierdie proses te bespoedig, het die munisipaliteit van Walvisbaai ’n registrasieproses vir kwesbare lede van die gemeenskap van stapel gestuur. In ’n verklaring het die munisipaliteit die versekering gegee dat die registrasie wettig is en voortduur.

“Die afgelope paar dae is die onderwerp om kwesbare lede van die gemeenskap te registreer om in aanmerking te kom vir moontlike voedselhulp, bespreek en verkeerde aannames is op sosiale media-platforms gemaak. Die vorm wat tans die rondte doen, is wettig en is spesifiek ontwerp om ’n databasis van almal te skep, spesifiek van persone wat in die toekoms voedsel- of ander hulp benodig.”

Die munisipaliteit sê omdat hulle die gepaste instansie is om só ’n databasis te hou en om die verspreiding van kos en ander items aan behoeftiges te beheer, het die burgemeester se kantoor dit nodig geag om die register op ’n gereelde basis op datum te bring.

“Om die proses te bespoedig, het die burgemeester se kantoor vrywilligers gekoöpteer om hulp te verleen deur kwesbare inwoners in Walvisbaai te registreer.”

Sou iemand twyfel oor die egtheid van die registrasievorm, wat ’n oorspronklike datum en stempel van die kantoor van die burgemeester moet bevat, kan hulle die besonderhede daarvan verifieer deur 064 2013 268 of 081 122 0816 te skakel.

Die munisipaliteit het ook vroeër gevra dat, indien mense kos aan minderbevooregte mense van Walvisbaai wil skenk, dit deur die burgermeester se kantoor te doen.

Verlede week het die munisipaliteit ’n N$200 000 skenking van die Namibia Fish Consumption Trust in die vorm van kos en toiletware ontvang. Die munispaliteit ontvang vandag (Dinsdag) ook ’n skenking van Walvis Bay Salt Refiners.

Walvisbaai se burgemeester Immanuel Wilfred het vroeër gesê hulle gaan voort om inwoners se behoeftes te evalueer, en soos kos en geldelike skekings beskikbaar is, sal die verspreiding van kospakkies voortduur.
