Record-breaking 14 Covid-19 cases reported

Namibia reaches 90 positive Covid-19 cases mark

Health minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula announced 14 new Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday morning.

According to Shangula, ten have known contacts, two are from quarantine facilities, while the contacts for the remaining two still have to be established.

Eleven of the cases are from Walvis Bay, one from Swakopmund and two are in quarantine in Windhoek.

Case 77 is a woman (39) from Swakopmund with no Covid-19 related symptoms. She is a contact of a confirmed case and was tested on 22 June. She is doing well.

Case 78 is a woman (40) from Walvis Bay. She is a contact of a confirmed case. She was tested on 21 June and does not have Covid-19 related symptoms.
Case 79 is a woman (39) from Walvis Bay who is a contact of a confirmed case. She was tested on 21 June 2020 and has no Covid-19 related symptoms.

Case 80 is a woman (25) from Walvis Bay who is a contact of a confirmed case. She was tested on 21 June and she had Covid-19 related symptoms at the time of swabbing.

Case 81 is a woman (40) from Walvis Bay who is a contact of a confirmed case. She was tested on 21 June and has no Covid-19 related symptoms.

Case 82 is a woman (36) from Walvis Bay and is a contact of a confirmed case. She was tested on 21 June and has no Covid-19 related symptoms.

Case 83 is a man (42) from Walvis Bay who is a contact of a confirmed case and was tested on 21 June.
Case 84 is a woman (26) from Walvis Bay. She is a contact of a confirmed case. She was tested on 21 June and she showed some Covid-19 related symptoms.

Case 85 is a man (31) from Walvis Bay. He was tested as part of active case search. He had no known contact with a confirmed case and he is not showing any Covid-19 symptoms. He was tested on 21 June 2020.

Case 86 is a woman (25) from Walvis Bay who is a contact of a confirmed case. She has no Covid-19 symptoms and was tested on 21 June.

Case 87 is a man (37) from Walvis Bay. He was tested on 21 June. He had no known contact with a confirmed case and he has no Covid-19 symptoms.

Case 88 is a man (47) from Walvis Bay who is a contact of a confirmed case and was tested on 21 June. He has no Covid-19 related symptoms.

Case 89 is a man (56) from India who arrived in Namibia on 17 June and has been in quarantine in Windhoek. He was tested on 21 June 2020 and did not have Covid-19 related symptoms.

Case 90 is a South African woman (45) who has a Namibian permanent residence permit. She arrived in Namibia on 17 June and has been in quarantine in Windhoek since. She was tested on 21 June and has no Covid-19 related signs and symptoms.
