Rally racers to invade Swakopmund

Motorsport fanatics will be treated to some rally action this weekend.
An estimated 20 entrants are expected to be in action at the V-Power Swakop Rally, with the first heats taking place on Friday night in the industrial area.
The spectator guide indicates that the first stage is set to commence at 17:08 at Daggabos 1, with the second stage at 17:30 at MX Short 1, and stage three at 20:00 The action continues with the remaining stages on Saturday, and the final stage finishing at the Go-Kart track in Swakopmund.
Stage 4 racing action is set to start at 11:11 from Shell on Saturday, followed by stage 5 at 11:25 from Daggabos 2. Stage 6 starts ar 12:31 from MX Long, stage 7 at 12:56 from the railway, stage 8 at 14:39 from MX Short 2, and finally stage 9 at 15:00 from the Go Kart track.
Spectator points are set up at stage 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9. The prize giving takes place at the Go Kart track once the results are available.
The Namibia Motorsport Federation requested that spectators not drink and drive whilst attending the event. “We value the lives of our road users. Please take caution when parking next to the main road to Windhoek and refrain from making a U-turn onto the main road. This is very dangerous and could cause an accident. Please use designated parking areas and spectator points as far as possible along the main road,” the NMSF advised.
This rally is part of the Namibia National Championship, of which the second leg took place in October. This coming weekend is leg three of six events spread over a timeframe of two years due to Covid-19 regulations.
