Public meetings set for May

The Swakopmund municipality announced that it will host annual public meetings from 17 to 21 May in different suburbs due to the different target groups in the town.
“Council aims to promote community involvement and public participation through various targeted community groups by hosting these sessions with the public,” said mayor, Louisa Kativa.
Council further approved that the heads of department identify and prepare matters to be discussed at these meetings. The resolution also states that members of the public will be invited via advertisements, letters and notices in various print and on social media as well as analogue platforms.
“The marketing and communications section will be assisted by the relevant departments and sections during the arrangements of the meetings,” Kativa said.
The public meetings are scheduled to place as follows:
•Monday, 17 May at the Multipurpose Centre in Mondesa at 18:00;
•Tuesday, 18 May at the open area behind the DRC Fire Station at 18:00;
•Wednesday, 19 May at the Matutura pay point at 18:00;
•Thursday, 20 May at the Swakopmund Town Hall in Tamariskia at 18:00; and
•Friday, 21 May at the Municipal Head Office at 12:00 (for the target audience of the Central Business District, Vineta and Kramersdorf).
