Jörg Goldbeck; Organiser; “The lap times were good and there were no serious crashes.”

The SFC Swakop Karters held their latest Club Championship leg at the Swakop Go-Karters track on Saturday, attracting drivers from various age groups and classes.

The participating classes were masters, senior max, junior max, maxterino and bambino. It was the third go karting race of the club this year and the second after lockdown measures were recently relaxed.

According to event organiser Jörg Goldbeck, the level of go karting is improving after every event.

This time, 13 racers participated, although the club is aiming for 20 racers per competition.

“Many of the older drivers who could not take part in the previous events had an opportunity to take part now. The lap times were good and there were no serious crashes,” he said.

He thanked the various sponsors for making the event a reality.
