Oumensies se harte bly gemaak

Senior burgers op die hawedorp is weer aangenaam verras met kospakkies.

Walvisbaai se munisipale raadslede het voor Kersfees namens die Burgemeester se Verligtingsfonds, kospakkies aan senior burgers uitgedeel.

Walvisbaai se burgemeester Immanuel Wilfred het gesê die jaarlikse geleentheid is ’n prioriteit.

“Die dag bied aan raadslede die geleentheid om uitsonderlike mense te ontmoet wat deur die jare ’n bydrae tot die vestiging en welvaart van Walvisbaai gelewer het. Dit bied vir ons die geleentheid om ons ma’s, pa’s en grootouers te bedank. Dit dien ook as ’n geleentheid vir alle senior burgers om met ou vriende te kuier. In die ware gees van Kersfees is ons hier om mekaar se geselskap te geniet.”

’n Oorstelpte me. Elizabeth de Koker het namens die senior burgers haar dankbaarheid teenoor die munisipaliteit uitgespreek omdat hulle na die bejaardes omsien en gesê die kospakkies kom altyd net op die regte tyd.

Wilfred het diegene bedank wat hul harte oopgemaak het om die geleentheid moontlik te maak en Namibiërs versoek om senior gemeenskapslede ten alle tye met liefde en respek te behandel.

“Dit moet nie net gedoen word omdat hulle bejaard is nie. Hulle het die weg gebaan vir ons en toekomstige geslagte. Hulle het sade geplant en ’n stewige fondament gelê waarop ons kan voortgaan om ons land te bou en te vorm, en ons moet hulle altyd waardeer.”

Ten slotte het die burgemeester vir almal ’n vreugdevolle feestyd en ’n voorspoedige 2020 toegewens.
