Nuwe komitee vir Narraville se mense

'n Komitee is verkies om die spreekbuis van die Narraville-gemeenskap te wees.

Inwoners van Narraville het onlangs 'n komitee aangewys as verteenwoordigende spreekbuis van die gemeenskap wat betref kwessies, uitdagings en ontwikkeling in die woonbuurt.

Die komitee is nie verbonde aan enige politieke party nie. Die verkose lede is Leon Louw (voorsitter), Renate Strauss (ondervoorsitter) en Bianca Otto (sekretaris), met addisionele lede Ivan Marshall, Babsie Martin, Paul Fisher, Alexander Basson en Emile Ekchart.

Louw het tydens die eerste vergadering gesê die doel van die komitee is om veral te fokus op dienslewering en sosiale kwessies.

Hy het gesê dié aspekte is in die verlede afsonderlik aangespreek, maar het nie die gewenste resultate opgelewer nie.

Chris Kleinsmith, een van die organiseerders van die vergadering, het gesê die komitee, met behulp van die gemeenskap, sal ook toesien dat probleme wat betref die kliniek aangespreek word. Pasiënte, veral bejaardes, moet die wind en die koue trotseer omdat hulle buite moet wag weens die kliniek se beperkte ruimte.

Kleinsmith het planne voorgelê vir uitbreidings sodat meer gesondheidsbeamptes en sitplekke geakkommodeer kan word. “Dit sal slegs moontlik wees as ons die nuutverkose komitee aan die gang hou en ondersteun,” het hy gesê.

Die komitee wil ook buitensporige waterrekeninge van sommige inwoners takel deur in samewerking met die munisipaliteit meters op te rig vir voorafbetaalde water.

Die kwessie oor die bou van 'n ouetehuis in Narraville is ook bespreek. Inwoners kon nie tot 'n vergelyk hieroor kom nie en die saak sal tydens 'n volgende vergadering verder gevoer word.
