No new Covid cases reported in Erongo

1400 Active cases

10 November 2020 | Health

Health minister Kalumbi Shangula confirmed 29 new Covid-19 cases from 1066 samples tested, of which 17 are male and 12 female. Their ages range from 1-year-old to 78.

None of the newly reported cases are from Erongo; the Oshana region takes the lead with 16 new cases reported in Oshakati. Hardap follows with five new cases reported in Rehoboth, while the Khomas region reported five new cases from Windhoek. The Oshikoto region reported three new cases with two new infections in Omuthiya and one in Onandjokwe.

The Oshana region recorded 15 recoveries, bringing the national total recoveries to 11 620. There are currently 1 484 active cases in Namibia with three in critical or severe condition.

The minister expressed his concern over the number of new cases being confirmed in relation to institutions.

“Of the 16 cases reported is Oshana, 13 are from schools and a correctional facility.”

However, he spoke with praise of political parties who are, according to him, ensuring that Covid-19 prevention measures are being put in place at their gatherings.
