New lift for at Antonius Residence

24 September 2020 | Local News

Finally, after five decades, the lift at the Antonius-Residenz old age home in Swakopmund has been replaced by a modern elevator.

The new elevator officially went into operation this week.

While management wanted to celebrate the event with residents of the town, this was not possible due to Covid-19 restrictions.

“The inauguration of the old lift was celebrated 50 years ago with pea soup, beer and other drinks as well as coffee and cake. There was also a braai and roasted chicken on a spit,” acting manager Vera Kutzner (at the back) said.

“We will have a small party with our roommates on Saturday and then we will catch up with a bigger event next year.”
