Salvador Mouers (27), a two-time Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMA) nominee, has embarked on a new journey in his musical career.

Mouers, who is now a gospel artist, started singing professionally at 16. He was a member of the RnB group Contagious Africa as well as Hip-Hop trio Brazse vani Mic. He later pursued his solo career and released his first solo album Everything, which garnered him two NAMA nominations in the best RnB and best Newcomer category. “Firstly, I am a born-again Christian. I decided to give my life to Christ in June. Our Heavenly Father is the one who gave me the gift of singing. Embarking on this new journey is my way of saying thank you, and at the same time praise and glorify Him for all he has done for me so far.”

Mouers recently released his first single as a gospel artist titled “U alleen” (You alone), an Afrikaans song. “The song talks about the challenges and uphill battles I’ve faced before taking this major step. It’s a song of gratitude, knowing that despite all that I’ve been through, He has been the one carrying me and guiding me throughout it all.”

Salvador said that he had become lost in the wrong things, the wrong friends, and harboured a toxic mind-set that made room for the enemy to deviate him from the plans God intended for him.
For his next project, which is also in Afrikaans, he is being joined by his younger brother Zander (22) on the track titled “Weet wie ek is”, (Know who I am in Him) to be released in the coming days.
“I express myself better in Afrikaans, and I cater to an Afrikaans speaking audience with these two projects. However, I never felt the need to box myself in, in terms of only doing certain genres or languages.”

Salvador says that his goal is to make a difference in people’s lives, spiritually. “The songs so far and those that will come, speak of everyday challenges. The past two years have been an extremely tough time for all of us and through music, I want to show that you are not alone and that there’s always someone in your corner – God.”

Aside from singing, Mouers is also a passionate producer, and has his own studio set-up at home. “I am excited about the journey ahead, and I am extremely grateful for all the love I’ve received thus far. All the glory to our Creator.” Salvador’s music can be accessed on ReverbNation under Salvador Mouers Music. He can also be reached on Facebook and Instagram under the same handle.
