NaTIS reopens coastal offices

The Roads Authority (RA) announced that its’ Walvis Bay and Swakopmund NaTIS Centres would reopen to the public, with a number of hygienic measures that are applicable.

In a bid to attend to applicants whose learner and driving licence bookings expired during the lockdown, the RA has suspended new applications and bookings for two weeks (23 June to 7 July), with new bookings that will commence on 8 July 2020.

Persons who had confirmed bookings for learner’s and driving licence tests during the lockdown will be contacted via the RA’s SMS line (2000) for a new date and time for the test.

The RA discourages persons from visiting its offices to make a booking in person, advising that contact can be made via email at [email protected] for assistance.

Applications for the renewal of driving licence cards which expired during stage 1 or will expire during stage 3 of the lockdown will be attended to via email request only. After the request, clients will be contacted via SMS to confirm the date and time when the applicant should visit the NaTIS Centre for the renewal.

Applicants that do not have access to email facilities may drop their documents along with contact details in a box at the entrance at the respective NaTIS offices. Applicants will then be contacted via SMS to confirm the date and time when to visit the NaTIS office.

Vehicle licences that expired on or before 31 May 2020 can be renewed until 21 July 2020, with no penalties being charged.
