Namport assists in marble block exports

Around 275 blocks of marble weighing about 4000 metric tonnes will be shipped from the Port of Walvis Bay to Marina di Carrara in Italy later this month. The consignment will be loaded onto the Rainbow Lucky general cargo vessel at the multipurpose terminal at the Port of Walvis Bay. Namibian quarries Namagra (Karibib), Best Cheer (Karibib) and Stone Evolution (Arandis) contributed to this consignment. According to Heino Golz from ACT Logistics based in Walvis Bay, about 16 000 metric tonnes is shipped per year from these clients.
