Die lang verwagte #LANDoftheBRAVEfilm het gisteraand sy debuut langs die kus gemaak ná die rolprent op 10 Oktober reeds in Windhoek vrygestel is.

#LANDoftheBRAVEfilm draai die volgende paar weke by Atlanta Cinema Swakopmund en volgens Armand Kruger, ’n kaartjieverkoper by die teater, sal die film na verwagting goed vaar. “Die Namibiese flieks doen altyd goed, so ons verwag nou dieselfde,” het hy gese.

#LANDoftheBRAVEfilm is deur Collectiv Productions vervaardig met Tim Huebschle as regisseur en skrywer.

Elize de Wee vertolk die rol van Meisie Willemse, ’n geharde polisie beampte wat soos baie ander, geraamtes in haar kas het. Hierdie geraamtes word deur die joernalis Piet Potgieter uitgekrap en hy gebruik dit om Willemse af te pers.

Pieter Greeff, wat die rol van die joernalis volstaan, was een van die hoofakteurs wat die Swakopmund bekendstelling bygewoon het.

#LANDoftheBravefilm was Greeff se eerste werk as akteur, maar sê die siviele ingenieur dat die vermaaklikheidsbedryf sy hart gesteel het. Hy het sy dank teenoor Chanelle de Jager uitgespreek, wat deur die regisseur ingespan is om die akteurs op filmwerk voor te berei aangesien Namibiese akteurs gewoonlik meer verhoogondervinding as filmondervinding het.

Hy het gesê De Jager het hom gehelp om sy karakter van homself te skei. As voorbeeld, sê Greeff hy het na ’n sekere soort musiek geluister wat wêrelde van sy eie smaak verskil, en ’n gegeurde kougom gekou, al hou hy self nie van kougom nie. Hy moes ook naskeerroom gebruik wat hy nie kon verdra nie. Tog het dit alles – saam met sy noukeurige bestudeering van The Shining – bygedra tot die Piet Potgieter wat op die grootskerm gesien word.

Joalette de Villiers wat die rol van Saartjie vertolk, sing ’n ietwat minder glansryke deuntjie.

“Ek het vir twee weke nie my hare gewas nie en toe ek op stel kom het Kuloan (die grimeerkunstenaar) my eenkant getrek en ’n baie eienaardige, aaklige smeermiddel in my hare gesit. Ek moes daardie aand met ’n sak oor my kop slaap om te keer dat my beddegoed vuil word. Toe ek die volgende oggend op stel kom, is daar nog smeermiddel in my hare gesit. Ek weet nie eens wat dit was nie.”

Naas vuil hare, het De Villiers ook tydens verfilming gewig opgetel. “Koeksisters. Ek is só moeg vir koeksisters. Ek moes net eet en eet en eet, ek was al op die vyfde koeksister naar,” vertel sy. Op die ou end moes sy twee pakke koeksisters inryg voor die toneel perfek was.
