Die Swakop Kosfees is een van die talle geleenthede op die dorp se kalendar wat op innoverende wyse aanhangers moes vermaak weens die Covid-19 pandemie.

Dus is die FEAST kookboek op 1 September amptelik vrygestel en word die gids vroeg volgende maand in plaaslike boekwinkels verwag.

Een van die Kosfees se organiseerders, Dalene Stephanus, sê die vrystelling van die boek het seepglad verloop en dat daar saam met die vrystelling daarvan, kosstalletjies voor die Swakopmunder Buchhandlung sal wees om die mylpaal te vier.
Stephanus het bygevoeg dat hierdie nie die laaste uitgawe sal wees nie.

“Ek dink daar sal nóg ’n uitgawe wees waarin ons meer tradisionele Namibiese disse wil vasvang, eerder as uitheemse kos deur Namibiese sjefs.”

Die FEAST kookboek bevat ongeveer 70 resepte wat wissel van brood en sop tot hoofgeregte en nageregte.

Stephanus sê daar iets vir elke kok te vinde.

“Ons wou eenvoudige disse vir tuiskokke met basiese vaardighede en toerusting asook meer ervare en eksperimentele kokke insluit, so daar is iets vir almal.”

Die boek kos N$199,95 en kan deur die Swakop Kosfees bestel word.

Volgens Stephanus het die samestelling van die kookboek in die tyd van die Covid-19 pandemie haar senuweeagtig gemaak.

“Dit was moeilik want die fotosessie vir die kookboek is in Windhoek gehou en ek kon weens die inperkings nie self daar wees nie. So, baie van hierdie projek was uit my hande en moes sonder my oorsig gebeur, maar dit lyk wonderlik en ek is meer as tevrede met die eindproduk.”
