NamPol’s regional crime investigations coordinator in Erongo, deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, reported that six missing children were found by the police today near the Spitzkoppe/Uis T-junction.
According to Iikuyu, a concerned woman, Jacobin Uri-#Khos, phoned the police from the Spitzkoppe/Usakos T-Junction this morning and reported the children missing.
According to Uri-#Khos, the kids had disappeared from home yesterday evening.
Iikuyu said that the children’s whereabouts became unknown after they were last seen on Tuesday evening at their neighbour’s farm.
“The police assisted the family in searching for the kids,” he said.
The children were found 10km from the Spitzkoppe/Usakos T-Junction, walking back towards their home on D1930 gravel road (Uis/Usakos gravel road).
They said that they went searching for wild fruits in the bush and ended up at another farm. They subsequently slept at a home belonging to one of the children’s stepfather.
