Orano Mining Namibia recently donated reusable masks suitable for pre-school children as well as 10 sanitiser dispensers valued at N$11 500 to kindergartens in Arandis.
According to the mine, the Asser Kapere Pre-Primary School and Rainbow Kindergarten cater for 100 children combined.
“The two schools’ needs to keep the children safe during the ongoing Covid-19 challenge came to the attention of Orano through the office of the Arandis town council,” said Orano Mining Namibia’s communication and communities consultant, Christine de Klerk.
The masks were produced by hand by TruHope Community Trading, an SME based in Swakopmund.
The tippy taps were made by students at the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) based in Arandis.
