Man kills girlfriend, turns himself in

The Erongo police regional commander for community affairs, inspector Ileni Shapumba, confirmed the incident that took place today (Thursday) in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay.
According to Shapumba, the suspect handed himself over to police officers at the police station in Narraville after committing the crime.
“Reports indicate that the 26-year-old victim returned from work at the Hangana Seafood Factory and found her boyfriend at home. The suspect then allegedly started arguing with her and accused her of having affairs. He then reportedly tried to push her out of the room. When she refused to leave, the suspect started punching her in the face and then assaulted her with a hammer on the head. She collapsed and died at the scene.”
The body of the deceased was taken to the Walvis Bay State hospital for post-mortem handling.
The suspect will appear at the Walvis Bay magistrate’s court tomorrow.
