“Foodie” is ’n Engelse term vir iemand wat hou van kos en kosmaak.

Nedbank het die afgelope naweek aan foodies langs die kus die geleentheid gegee om hul liefde vir kos by die jaarlikse kosfees uit te leef. Daar was om van te kies en keur met burgers, pizza, seekos, tjips en ’n verskeidenheid van eksotiese disse op die spyskaart.

Die immergewilde Fachwerk-biertuin het ’n stalletjie gehad waar hulle Duitse kos na die fees gebring het. Asië was ook op die spyskaart, met Garnish Swakopmund se Indiese geregte en Cai Tai Thai se Chinese disse.

Een van die besoekers was Zee Adams, wat sê Garnish Swakopmund het gaste trakteer toe hulle met kosse begin eksperimenteer het.

Sy meen die Indiese stalletjie se besluit om pur (samoosa deeg) in ’n roomys “cone” vorm te maak, was uitsonderlik. Die inspirasie vir Garnish se idee was waarskynlik te danke aan die stalletjie oorkant hulle, waar pizza “cones” opgedis is.

Nog ’n besoeker, Jackie Woker, meen die fees was fantasties. Sy sê egter dat daar nie genoeg beligting in die aande was nie, en dat daar volgende keer meer skuduwee gedurende die dag beskikbaar moet wees.

Adams meen daar moet meer sitplek voor die verhoog wees sodat besoekers die optredes meer kan geniet. Sy stel ook voor dat daar aanwysers is sodat die publiek die toilette makliker kan vind.

“Hulle behoort sosiale media meer te gebruik in hul bemarking en om die publiek in te lig van wat by die fees aangebied word.”

Vir haar was die eerste aand ’n wonderlike ondervinding.

“Die musiek was uitmuntend, almal was vriendelik en mens kon nie ophou om die verskillende kosse te geniet nie. Die weer was perfek en alles het goed gewerk. Die tweede aand se wind het die ondervinding effens versuur, maar die dag was pragtig.”
