Less than three weeks of schooling left in 2021 academic year

The last school day for pre-primary and Grade 1 to 10 learners will be on l5 December 2021. The grade 11-AS and grade 12 learners last school day is on 17 December 2021.
This will also be the last working day for teaching and non-teaching staff.

The first semester for government schools will commence on 10 January 2022 with a mid-term break from 3 to 6 May 2022. The last school day for the first semester will be on 10 June 2022.
The second semester will resume on 28 July, followed by a mid-term break from 26 to 30 September with the final day of schooling on 15 December. The total school days for 2022 amount to 195. The provisional date set for the first school day of 2023 is 18 January.

Sanet Steenkamp, the education executive director in a letter directed to directors of education, arts and culture inspectors of education, school principals, school boards and teachers, said that the last school and working dates for the academic year 2021 should be read in conjunction with the Amended Formal Education Circular seven of 2021 on School Operations amid Covid-l9 for the remainder of the 2021 school year.

Naraville Primary School announced that the Grade 4 learners will not write any exams on 26 November and 6 December. Therefore there will be no school for them on these days. There will also be no casual days and pie sales as from 25 November 2021. The school advised the parents of pre-primary to Grade 7 learners to make sure learners come to school with the correct school attire. Parents are also urged to consult the exam timetable to make sure at what time their child needs to be at school. The learners will write their first session at 07:30 and the second session at 10:00. They will be allowed to do so according to grades and not in their respective groups the school said in a letter addressed to parents.
