Ten spyte van ekonomiese druk,het Nictus Swakopmund onlangs ’n “pyjama party” gehou om hul nuwe Bedding Boutique amptelik te open.

“Die opening van hierdie winkel in die huidige ekonomiese klimaat is vir ons ’n groot eer. Dit dien as bewys dat ons hier is om te bly,” sê Nictus se uitvoerende hoof, Francois Wahl.

Nictus se Bedding Boutique op Swakopmund word as ’n Sealey-spesialis slaapsentrum beskou waar die kundigheid van beddespesialis Werner Rohde voltyds aan klante gebied word.

Rohde het sy kennis oor die afgelope 31-jaar in Suid-Afrika opgebou as ’n verkoopsman vir Sealey, maar noem Namibië nou sy tuiste.

Hy meen dat baie kliënte oorhaastig is om beddens en matrasse te koop.

“Bedkoop nie perdekoop nie. Baie mense kom sit ’n oomblik op ’n bed en besluit dan om dit te koop. Jy kan eenvoudig nie net op ’n bed sit en weet dit is die beste bed vir jou nie. Jy moet op die bed lê en jou oë toemaak en rondrol en dit regtig beleef om te weet of dit jou rug ondersteun,” sê Rohde.

Verder sê hy hulle wil al vyf sintuie in die winkel stimuleer.

“Sig deur die dekor, gehoor deur die agtergrondmusiek, reuk deur die reuk van koffie uit die kombuis, en die tassintuig wanneer die kliënt aan ’n mattras voel,” sê Rhode.

Dononvan Majiedt, die eienaar van The Collective Boutique, het ook tot die geleentheid bygedra met ’n uitstalling van hul sy slaapklere.

“Ek dink geleenthede soos hierdie is altyd lekker, want jy kan regtig mense leer ken en kontakte bou,” het hy gesê.
