Nubeb Self-Catering Accommodation was voorheen bekend as Silver Bull en is toe hernoem na die Nubeb-bergreeks by Usakos.

Dit is in elke sin van die woord ’n familiebesigheid, wat vir die afgelope drie jaar deur Johan en Corrie Smit bestuur word, met ouma Martie en kleinseun Jarred wat ook met graagte hand bysit.

Die bestuurder tannie Alletta en haar span is altyd gereed om gaste na die beste van hul vermoë te bederf.

Die akkommodasie bestaan uit agt rushuise wat toegerus is met ’n dubbelbed of twee enkelbeddens. Vyf van die eenhede beskik ook oor hul eie braai-area met onderdakparkeerplek. ’n Veiligheidswag verseker dat gaste gemoedsrus geniet wanneer hulle slaap.

’n TV, lugversorging, yskas en ’n klein kombuis met eetgerei, mikrogolfoond en ketel is van die geriewe wat in die kamers beskikbaar is. Daar is ook Wifi beskikbaar. Gaste het die opsie om ontbyt te bespreek.

Nubeb Self-Catering Accommodation hou tred met veranderende tye en gaan vanaf 2021 begeleide daguitstappies aanbied wat met versnaperinge en skemerkelkies afgesluit word.

Een van die beplande uitstappies is na die Nubebberg waar rare Boesmanskuns besigtig kan word. Dit is ’n aangename en gemaklike uitstappie, met die dag se aktiwiteite wat by die Magic Viewpoint afgesluit word.

Nog ’n uitstappie na die Marmerpoele is meer veeleisend en strek oor ’n afstand. Die roete gaan verby ’n ou toermalynmyn en asemrowende kokerbome wat ideaal vir ’n fotogeleentheid is.

Die laaste deel van die roete is te voet en behels ’n paar klimaktiwiteite om die marmerpoele te bereik. Hierdie natuurlike swembad is deur die eeue heen in marmer uitgekerf en wanneer dit reën, word dit gevul met water wat van die berg af vloei. Die gebied bevat ook kuns van die Duitse soldate wat in 1926 ’n spoorlyn in die omgewing gebou het.

Tydens die Usakos-toer word by die fontein gekuier waar die dorp se naam sy herkoms het.

Volgens die ouer garde het grootmense die kinders altyd aangesê om te “# Usakos” wat beteken “gryp dit aan sy hak” wanneer diere wat kom suip het in die fontein sou val.

Die toer bied ook ’n kuier by verskeie ander interessante besienswaardighede wat op die dorp te vinde is.
