Die Kunsvereniging van Swakopmund het Vrydagaand sy Little Big Things-uitstalling geopen.

Elke jaar word kuns anoniem by die geleentheid verkoop. Belangstellendes vind eers met die koop van die kuns­werk die kunstenaar se identiteit uit.

Storm McLaren, 'n graad 10-leerling aan Namib Hoërskool en een van die kunstenaars, het gesê sy is op haar senuwees oor dié tweede uitstalling waaraan sy deelneem.

“Ek hoop my werk word verkoop, maar ook nie – ek wil dit huis toe vat en teen my muur gaan ophang.”

Die 15-jarige Renate Coetzee sê sy is geen vreemdeling vir kunsuitstallings nie, met “definitief al meer as 15” van haar kunswerke wat tot dusver teen galery­mure gesien is.

Twee van Coetzee se kunswerke is by die uitstalling te sien, waarvan een 'n besliste gunsteling is. “Ek hou van die ligter een – dis meer skoon, meer ek,” sê Coetzee. Sy het gesê elk van die twee olieportrette het drie dae geneem om te voltooi.

Erika Kölling, 'n kunsonderwyser en die stigter van die Omaruru School of Arts, het vyf kunswerke kus toe gebring vir die uitstalling.

“Ons kon net soveel bring. Ek wens dit was meer, maar ons het ongelukkig limiete,” het sy gesê.

Al Kölling se leerlinge wat deelneem, is 14 jaar of ouer.

Die uitstalling duur tot 31 Oktober en sal weer in 2020 gehou word.
