Four-time 2020 NBC/MTC Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMA) nominated artist Joharetha Nel released her latest single, “Bloudruk” by officially launching it on local radio station Kosmos 94.1FM last Friday.
The accompanying music video was released at the same time and is available on her YouTube channel.
According to the songstress who is known for encouraging messages in her Afrikaans gospel songs, “Bloudruk” is all about self-acceptance.
“It is about the gift you can give yourself by accepting yourself and your identity, the flaws and all there is about your unique self,” she said.
Nel was nominated for the Gospel, Music Video, Newcomer and Afrikaans awards at the NAMAs.
“My lyrics express a full range of emotion and at the same time motivates the world by saying there is only one of you and you are good enough with every mistake heartache, or anything you as a person have been through. It’s a very personal song, but I think it speaks for everyone,” she said.
“Bloudruk” was co-produced by Gernot Fritze, Adam Brandon-Kerby and David de Beer. Fritze also did the mixing and mastering at Nautilus Studios, while Joharetha wrote the song’s lyrics and melody.
Numerous radio stations across the country have access to the song and it will be available on online streaming platforms like CD Bay, iTunes, TuneCore and many others.
The “Atata” and “40 Dae” hitmaker proved that she is one of the most hardworking artists on the scene, as she also graced the stage for the recently held MTC 081Every1 Hope Concert.
In the past she has shared the stage with numerous international gospel acts like Bucy Radebe and Benjamin Dube.
