The Erongo regional police are investigating a case of housebreaking and a second case of rape in Walvis Bay.

Deputy commissioner Erastus Ikuyu said that an unknown suspect broke into the home of a woman (28) in Kuisebmond at around 04:00 on Tuesday.

“He allegedly forced open the door of the victim’s room and pointed a firearm against her head. The suspect then ordered her to undress and forced her to committed sexual acts before he fled from the scene.”

Ikuyu said that the suspect was wearing a hoodie jacket and is dark in complexion with a round face.

“He is still at large and the investigation continues. Women, especially those who live alone, should be extra cautious. We are calling on the community to report any suspicious movements in their areas or neighbourhoods especially at night, to the police without delay to ensure swift action.”
