Orano Mynbougroep se bestuurende direkteur, Hilifa Mbako, beklee sedert 1 Januarie 2020 die rol van uitvoerende voorsitter ná ’n dekade by die maatskappy.

“Hierdie strategiese skuif sal hom (Mbako) in staat stel om op meer visioenêre eksterne aspekte van die maatskappy te fokus,” aldus ’n verklaring deur Orano.

Die vorige finansiële bestuurder, Tommie Gouws, beklee nou Mbako se pos ná hy die afgelope 13 jaar by Orano werksaam is. Met sy breedvoerige ondervinding in die finansiële veld, sal Gous in sy nuwe rol nog steeds toesig hou oor die finansiële department.

“Alle uraanmarkspelers moet op die toekoms voorberei en gereed wees vir ’n noemenswaardige toename in aanvraag,” het die maatskappy gesê.

Mbako het gesê dat as deel van die maatskappy se plaaslike integrasiebeleid, Orano sal voortgaan om plaaslike bevolkings in die Erongostreek, veral Spitzkoppe, Arandis, Swakopmund en Usakos, te ondersteun.

“Orano se betrokkenheid in Namibië strek verder as net die Trekkopje-projek; die Erongo ontsoutingsaanleg is ’n belangrike fasiliteit in die streek se water behoeftes. Ons werk nou saam met NamWater om water aan die Erongostreek te voorsien en is tans besig om ’n langtermyn verskaffingsooreenkoms te bespreek,” het Mbako gesê.
