Governor urges public to get vaccinated

The governor of the Erongo region, Neville Andre, received his Covid-19 vaccination at the Swakopmund District Hospital recently.
After getting the jab, Andre encouraged Namibians to do the same.
“With this passport, I can say I am part of the army that is fighting the Covid-19 battle. I am encouraging everyone to get the vaccine, as it is the only way we can fight this battle and return to some form of normalcy,” he said.
Andre said he decided to get vaccinated to save himself, his family and those that he meets daily.
“We all need to do this,” Andre urged and expressed his gratitude towards government as well as healthcare practitioners for providing the service.
The national vaccination programme commenced with Phase 1 on 19 March 2021 in the Khomas and Erongo regions; the national rollout will continue in other regions in phases.
The vaccine is free and is available at the state hospitals.
Residents of the two regions, who are interested in being vaccinated, are urged to check the eligibility criterion to see whether they qualify.
The vaccines being administered are Sinopharm and Covisure (Astra Zeneca). You can choose which vaccine they prefer.
