JG van Graan; Nedbank Chief Financial Officer; “There is a need for much more acute awareness about autism..."

The Nedbank for Autism Golf Series will commence this weekend, aiming to raise funds and awareness for the Autism Association of Namibia.

The event which was postponed due to the Covid pandemic, sees the coastal leg of the series teeing off at the Walvis Bay Golf Club on Saturday, 26 September.

The following Saturday (3 October), the series will head to Swakopmund's Rossmund Golf Course and on 10 October to the Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate.

“There is a need for much more acute awareness about autism. That is why Nedbank took this opportunity to support this cause, and we are quite proud to be associated with the Nedbank for Autism Golf Series,” said JG van Graan, Nedbank Chief Financial Officer.

He added that the ‘Coastal Swing’ part of the series gives the bank an opportunity to connect with golfers in the greater Erongo region and gave the assurance that as per the discussions with the Namibia Sport Commission, participants at the events will be abiding to Covid-19 protocols.

Dan Zwiebel, the series coordinator, encouraged all golfers to come and participate.

“The winner from each event will progress to the final in the capital, with the format being an individual stableford. At the final event, the nine winners will respectively team up with an invited sponsored team consisting of three players to compete for team prizes as well as the attractive overall prizes,” he said.
