'Glyjakkals' beloof opnuut betaling aan gastehuis

Die vermeende glyjakkals, mnr. Corné van Tonder (45), het gister vir die tweede keer in die Swakopmund-landdroshof verskyn en het intussen opnuut aan die gastehuis belowe om sy agterstallige rekening van meer as N$151 000 te betaal.

Landdros Nelao Brown het die saak tot 6 April vir verdere ondersoek ­uitgestel. Van Tonder bly in aanhouding.

Volgens staatsaanklaer ­Cleopatra Boois is die polisieondersoek in verband met die beskuldigde se bedrogklag nog nie afgehandel nie.

Die saak spruit voort uit die beskuldigde wat glo vir 'n maand saam met sy gesin in 'n gastehuis op Swakopmund gebly het en glo nie sy rekening van N$151 430 vir akkommodasie, kos en drank betaal het nie.

Van Tonder wat saam met sy vrou, vier kinders en later sy skoonma by die gastehuis tuisgegaan het, is op 31 Desember op dié kusdorp in hegtenis geneem.
Die eienaar van die gastehuis het gister aan Republikein gesê Van Tonder is weer besig om planne uit sy “hotel-suite” te maak.

“Gister om 11:00 het Van Tonder weer 'n bewys van betaling gestuur en ons moes dadelik iets op skrif sit dat ons die saak sal terugtrek, maar ons het mos mooi by hom geleer dat die geld eers in die bank moet verskyn,” het die gastehuiseienaar gesê.

Vriende van die beskuldigde het ook aangebied om sy gastehuisrekening te vereffen op voorwaarde dat die klag teen hom teruggetrek word.
