Girls cricket action at the coast

Since practicing contact sports has been allowed after the end of the State of Emergency, more sporting events are expected to start at coast.

This weekend, Cricket Namibia will be hosting an under 13 and under 19 coastal girls tournament.

Justice Hangula from Cricket Namibia said that the tournament for under 13 girls will take place at the Walvis Bay Private High School.

“Four teams from two different schools will be playing against each other in T10 matches. They are !Nara Primary School from Walvis Bay and Pro-Ed Academy from Swakopmund.”

An under 19 girls tournament will take place at Pro-Ed Academy in Swakopmund.

Both tournaments kick-off at 08:00 and conclude at 17:30.

“For the under 19 tournament, the girls will be playing T20 matches. The schools that will be competing against each other are from Kuisebmond Secondary School, !Nara Primary School and Pro-Ed Academy.”

Hangula said that these tournaments are simply to activate the sport and get the girls back in action.
