Journey with Dr Do Cabo

31 January 2020 | Events

Doctor Vickey Do Cabo discusses the unusual ride that life took her on during a talk which forms part of the Scientific Society of Swakopmund’s series titled “The Long Road to Namibia – the making of a Nation”.

Dr. Do Cabo talks about her journey as a refugee in Angola, a scholar in Cuba, a geology student in Czechoslovakia and being a student geologist in Finland and the United Kingdom at the Swakopmund Museum Lecture Hall on 4 February.

She believes that her unusual journey has shaped her into the person she is and has appropriately dubbed her talk ‘The extended Road to Namibia – My journey defined who I am today’.
She will also share her views on a variety of social issues like refugee life, cultural borders and the importance of perseverance.

Do Cabo currently serves as the Directorate Mapping and Geo-information for the ministry of mining and energy after graduating as a Doctor of geology in Europe.
