Koloko King; Musician; “The song encourages young people to be responsible and to do chores, like washing dishes.”
September is the month that will be remembered for the end of the State of Emergency.
It will also go down as a month in which coastal artists released more awesome music, with the likes of Gustawo “Koloko King” and Julia “Liz” Shihepo that made sure their latest releases are memorable for their fans.
Both artists have proven that not even the lockdown could keep the muse away.
Like many other dancers, Koloko King, who is a member of the Tak Takz Finest dance group, has embarked a career in music. He recently released his latest offering “Was daai skottels”, which translates into “wash those dishes”.
The amapiano song features afro pop and afro soul artist Yung Kavin (Paulus Kavindji), and is definitely worth listening to.
The instrumentals, which have a hypnotic bass, make you want to move and with the State of Emergency being lifted, this can be the perfect song to play over the jukebox while enjoying a “cold one”.
The hit has catchy lyrics as well as a tune and melody that are easy on the ear. Yung Kavin adds his star quality to the song with his vocals.
“The song is about encouraging young people to be responsible and do chores, like washing dishes,” Koloko King said.
Rapper Julia “Liz” Shihepo also released the sizzling hot track, “Petrus Paulus”.
She oozes swag (style with attitude and grace) with a lyrical flow and in the delivery of her verses.
The song is fun and has a relatable storyline. The narrator expresses her love in a proud manner towards the apple of her eye, Petrus Paulus.
No matter what gender you are, the fun and happy vibes of song makes it worth putting on repeat.
It is evident that the Swakopmund-based Liz, who is part of the BL Entertainment group, is extremely talented. More excellent songs are expected from her.
