Over 330 participants took part in the 2019 FNB Sandman Triathlon earlier today in Swakopmund.

This was a significant improvement in turnout compared to last year when around 270 athletes participated.

The athletes took part in different categories. These included the ultra, standard, sprint and mini classes.

The best time in the swim event over a distance of 1.9km was recorded by Phillip Seidler. He clocked a time of 21:23.

Conrad Marais was the fastest cyclist over the 90km distance with a time of 1:16:11.

Erich Goeieman was the fasted runner in the 21km distance with a time of 1:16:11.
