Erongo registers five new Covid cases

The minister of health Kalumbi Shangula announced 39 new Covid cases, 59 recoveries and another Covid-19 death reported in Walvis Bay.

Shangula said that 703 results were received from the laboratories, of which 23 of the newly reported cases are male and 16 are female, with their ages ranging from five to 62-years.

The confirmed cases are distributed in Windhoek (14), Oshakati (10), Gobabis (5), Walvis Bay (3), Swakopmund (2), Okahandja (2), Keetmanshoop (1), Lüderitz (1) and Onandjokwe (1).

Shangula said that the cases reported in Oshakati include eight inmates from Oluno correctional facility, while the Gobabis cases include three learners and two teachers from the same school.

The minister also announced 59 new recoveries in //Kharas (21), Khomas (17), Otjozondjupa (15), Kunene (5) and Zambezi (1).

Of the active cases, three patients are in a serious to critical condition. In the Erongo region, one patient is in a critical condition, while in Khomas, one patient is seriously and one patient is in a critical condition.
