Erongo records three new Covid-19 cases

He said that 1 115 results were received from the laboratories and that of the new cases, 49 are male and 28 are female, with ages ranging from one-year to 83.
The confirmed cases are distributed in Oshakati (21), Omuthiya (18), Windhoek (15), Gobabis (14), Karasburg (3), Luderitz (2), Swakopmund (2), Walvis Bay (1) and Okahandja (1).
The minister said that more cases are being recorded at police holding cells (Omuthiya), as well as at schools (Oshakati and Gobabis).
“This calls for continuous vigilance. We encourage early reporting of any individual who experiences Covid-19 related symptoms. Such individuals should not to go to school or to work, but be tested to limit the transmission of infection to others.”
The minister also announced 51 recoveries: Khomas (34), Omaheke (6), Hardap (5), Erongo (5) and Zambezi (1).
Of the active cases, three patients are in a severe to critical condition. In the Khomas region, two patients are in a critical condition and in the Oshana region, one patient is seriously ill.
